Evansville holds a special affection for the sport of baseball. We are home to legendary Yankee great Don Mattingly and the film site for the immortal baseball movie "A League of Their Own." Our community has fostered the sport in our youth, high school, college, and adult leagues, making Evansville a natural sports destination. Located a few hours from St. Louis to the west (3hrs), Louisville to the east (1.5 hrs), Nashville to the south (2 hrs) and Indianapolis to north (3hrs), Evansville is convenient and affordable for families with travel teams.
With this in mind, the Evansville Convention and Visitors Bureau decided to invest in this heritage. In May of 2015, our 8-field Deaconess Sports Park opened after costing $14M to construct. Designed for girls' fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball tournaments, women's fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball tournaments, men's fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball tournaments, adult and co-ed softball leagues, and boys' 12-and-under baseball tournaments, the Deaconess Sports Park was built entirely with funding from our Innkeepers' Tax revenue. The facility will also be maintained, managed, and marketed by the Evansville Convention & Visitors Bureau. We invite you to look at the amenities and services we offer. To ensure your next tournament is a homerun for your players and organizers, or hold a special event on site, call Tim Fulton at 800-433-3025 or 812-401-1890 today. Or email him at [email protected]
