It features play opportunities for children of all abilities, including the Liberty Swing that is wheelchair accessible. You’ll also find the world’s tallest solar communitree here.

Wesselman Woods Nature PlayScape

Cost: $3 - $5 per person

A little dirt never hurt, just ask the kids at Wesselman Woods Nature PlayScape! This type of outdoor playground is designed to help kids experience unstructured play and exploration. They will get wet and dirty, but that’s part of the fun.

Stumps, logs, streams, boulders, and other loose materials abound and encourage kids to use their imaginations to build and learn. Experience the great outdoors and some good, not-so-clean, fun.

Engelbrecht Carousel

Cost: $8.50- $9.50 per person

If Mesker Park Zoo is on your list of must-see spots, be sure take a twirl or two around the Engelbrecht Carousel. Only two tokens to ride, the carousel sits near the Children’s Enchanted Forest.

Enchanted it is! This isn’t your average carousel. Kids can hop on hummingbirds, dolphins, polar bears, and other animals on the endangered species list. It also sits next to the new Budgie Walkabout, where you can hand-feed the native Australian birds.

Burdette Park Aquatic Center

Cost: $5 - $8 per person

Summer just got a whole lot cooler! Burdette Park Aquatic Center is one of the largest in the Midwest. It’s the perfect place to take a dip for both kids of all ages and kids at heart.

Take a dive in the large Olympic-size pool or splish and splash all the way down the impressive water slides. Smaller kids can float on a friendly snake or alligator or stay cool in the interactive spray park.

Plus, there’s much more to explore at Burdette Park! Hike or bike the USI-Burdette Park trail, pick-up a game of tennis or sand volleyball, and then stay overnight in one of the beautiful chalets.
