Since 1975, the E'ville Iron Street Rod Club has put on a rod run for street rod owners. There were 44 registered street rods at the first event. Now you can see thousands of different street rods every year at the largest Pre-1949 Street Rod event anywhere in the world. The rod run became known as the Frog Follies when a bull frog race was held at the first event. There have been entries from as far as Alaska, Australia, Canada, and all over the United States. The Frog Follies is a favorite local summertime tradition.
Get there from here: The Vanderburgh County 4-H Center is located at 201 E. Boonville-New Harmony Road, just West of the Highway 41 intersection between Highway 64 and Evansville. Parking will be found on the grounds as directed upon entering the fairgrounds. Nearby accommodations north of the event are the Holiday Inn Express & Suites North, Quality Inn & Suites, Clarion Pointe, and Super 8 by Wyndham North at the Highway 64 interchange. Just south of the event on Highway 41, you will find the Hampton Inn Evansville Airport, Motel 41, and the Comfort Inn & Suites Evansville Airport. Hotels sell out fast for this event. These hotels are closest, but all accommodations around the city are no more than 20 minutes from the event. Be sure to ask if they allow trailer parking if you are bringing one!
