Wesselman Woods Nature Preserve is a National Natural Landmark and a State Nature Preserve with over 190-acres of virgin bottomland hardwood forest, providing the perfect atmosphere for relaxing nature walks. It is the largest old-growth urban forest in the nation.
The Nature Center features exhibits, events, wildlife observation areas and several live species of animals including owls, hawks, and snakes on display that have been injured or are not sustainable in the wild.
