Evansville, Indiana – Looking for a delicious way to escape the cold?  Then mark your calendars and plan to visit Wesselman Woods Nature Preserve for the 33rd Maple Sugarbush Festival and Pancake Breakfast on March 5th and 6th.  Enjoy a tasty meal and learn more about how real maple syrup is made from the trees all around us.

The Maple Sugarbush Festival celebrates the annual maple sugar harvest collected from the trees at Wesselman Woods.  Bring the family to enjoy a hearty breakfast, including sausage, all-you-can-eat pancakes with pure maple syrup, and juice, milk and coffee.  After breakfast, families can take a guided tour through the Nature Preserve to observe how sap is harvested from the sugar maple trees, then boiled down into pure, delicious maple syrup.  A variety of activities for all ages will increase participants understanding of nature’s role in the winter harvest.  Maple syrup, maple confections and other seasonal novelties will be for sale during the event.

Cost of the event is $7 (Age 13 and over) and $4 (youth 4-12); Children under age 4 are free!  Wesselman Nature Society Members received discounted admission.  Memberships will be available for sale at the door.

This event is made possible through the generous support of our presenting sponsor, Old National Bank, and our media sponsor, South Central Media.

Event logos and photos from past Maple Sugarbush Festivals can be provided. Please Contact Carey Blackmore at sblackmore@wesselmannaturesociety.org
